ReviewInsights helps Shopify merchants collect, moderate, display, and manage product reviews on their storefronts. It supports theme app blocks for standard Liquid themes, app proxy endpoints, Hydrogen/headless integrations, and aggregated product rating widgets.

Customers can submit reviews through the Star Rating widget on your product detail page. The widget displays existing reviews and includes a submission form where shoppers can leave a star rating, title, review text, and optional images.

Newly submitted reviews appear in your admin dashboard as Pending until you approve them.

All customer-submitted reviews start in a Pending state so you can moderate content before it appears on your storefront. Go to the Reviews dashboard, review each submission, and click Approve to publish it or Reject to hide it.

Yes. Use the Import CSV feature on the Reviews dashboard to bulk-import reviews from another platform. Download the sample CSV template first to ensure your column formats are correct before uploading.

You can also Export CSV at any time to back up or process your existing reviews externally.

From the Reviews dashboard you can:

• Approve — publish the review to your storefront
• Reject — hide the review without permanently deleting it
• Delete — permanently remove the review
• Edit — update the title, content, author name, star rating, email, or status

Bundles let you group two or more products together so customers can leave reviews on the collection as a whole. Create a bundle from the Create Bundle page by giving it a name and selecting at least two products.

When you approve a review for any product in a bundle from the Bundle Review Approvals tab, the app automatically syndicates that review to all other products in the same bundle — so every bundled product shares the same social proof.

For standard Liquid themes:

1. Go to Shopify Admin → Online Store → Themes → Customize
2. Navigate to a product page template and click Add Block
3. Insert one of the three app blocks: Star Rating, Simple Rating, or Review Widget

Color, text, and layout changes saved in Settings reflect across all app blocks instantly — no re-embedding needed.

Yes. ReviewInsights supports two Hydrogen integration options:

• iFrame widgets — copy-paste ready-made embed snippets into your Hydrogen components
• Headless JSON APIs — fetch raw review data and build your own custom UI

Open Settings in the app to customize text styling, layout (grid or slider), visible review count, border radius, and color scheme (star color, background, heading, and card colors).

A live color preview updates in real time so you can see exactly how your widgets will look before saving.

The app automatically syncs aggregated rating data to standard Shopify product metafields that you can query via the Storefront API:

• gwl-reviewinsights.rating — average star rating for the product
• gwl-reviewinsights.count — total number of reviews for the product

This lets headless storefronts display ratings without an extra REST call when you only need the summary score.

On the Reviews dashboard, open the Product Ratings Overview tab. It lists all products with their aggregated rating summary. Click any product to drill down and view only the reviews for that product, with the same moderation actions available.
